Started in 1995, SOCAFEST is the largest soca event in North America held over Miami Carnival/Broward Carnival weekend. It has annually been held at the Coconut Grove Convention Center with bands and artists representing the best of the Caribbean. In 2006 SOCAFEST moved to Metropolis, located in downtown Miami. This indoor and outdoor venue jumped from 9 pm to 9 am. So much so that the 2007 SOCAFEST RETURNS to METROPOLIS AKA AREA 51.
